Amanda, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?

My journey in creating Studyville began with my own experiences as a mom. I found myself increasingly frustrated with the lack of effective and engaging academic support available for my children. Balancing work and family life, I saw firsthand the challenges that students face in keeping up with their studies and the need for a supportive, enriching environment where they could thrive academically.

This personal frustration fueled my passion to create a place that not only provided top-notch tutoring services but also fostered a love for learning. Studyville was born out of this vision, aiming to bridge the gap between students’ needs and the resources available to them. Our mission is to offer a comprehensive and personalized approach to education, ensuring that every student has the opportunity to reach their full potential.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?

I started Studyville in the midst of a global pandemic, so yes, you could say we faced challenges along the way! We plugged through, and eventually became providers for high dosage tutoring initiatives, offering tutoring both during the school day and after the school day.

Studyville is an innovative educational hub known for its exceptional tutoring services set in a cool, academic workspace. Our primary mission is to provide high-dosage tutoring solutions, particularly in at-risk schools, while actively engaging with our community to foster a love for learning.

Starting out as an entrepreneur is a thrilling yet challenging journey. Reflecting on my experience with Studyville, there are a few key pieces of advice I’d like to share.

Firstly, I’m glad I didn’t know what I didn’t know when I began. If I had fully understood the difficulties and isolation that often accompany the entrepreneurial path, I might have hesitated. Every day is a leap of faith, a constant cliff dive into the unknown. Will it work? I don’t know, but let’s jump in and see.

For those starting out, it’s crucial to have a strong tolerance for risk. You need a resilient stomach to weather the tough times and tough skin to withstand criticism and doubts from others. Believe in your vision and have the determination to see it through, even when others can’t see it.

Entrepreneurs must be visionaries who can inspire and lead others to join their mission. It’s not just about having a great idea; it’s about rallying a team to bring that idea to life. And be prepared to wear many hats – you’ll find yourself taking on roles as a CPA, HR manager, social media expert, marketing director, and even janitor.

Ultimately, perseverance and adaptability are key. The journey is filled with ups and downs, but maintaining your passion and drive will help you navigate through the challenges. Embrace the unknown, stay committed to your vision, and be ready to learn and grow every step of the way.
