The Louisiana Giving All True Opportunity to Rise (LA GATOR) Scholarship Program is an exciting new initiative designed to give families more control over their children’s education. Set to begin with the 2025-2026 school year, this program empowers parents to choose the educational path that best fits their child, offering new financial accessibility to private or faith-based school, homeschooling, or other educational support, like tutoring at Studyville.

What is the LA GATOR Scholarship Program?
The LA GATOR program allows Louisiana parents the freedom to access state tax dollars to fund their child’s education in avenues other than traditional public schooling. This program provides financial support to help students thrive in an environment tailored to their success as part of the initiative to improve student achievement across Louisiana. Currently, nearly 70% of Louisiana public school students are not performing at grade level in reading or math. And, the LA GATOR program aims to bridge this gap by offering students access to better educational opportunities, including tutoring, personalized learning, and private school tuition assistance.

One of the most exciting aspects of this program is its ability to fund tutoring services for eligible students. Families who receive a LA GATOR scholarship may apply some of their funds toward tutoring services at Studyville.

Who is Eligible for the LA GATOR Scholarship?
The LA GATOR Scholarship is available to K-12 students across Louisiana who meet certain eligibility criteria. To qualify, students must be a Louisiana resident and meet one of the following:
- Participated in the Louisiana Scholarship Program previous school year
- Entering kindergarten
- Enrolled in a public school the previous school year
- Meet income-based eligibility requirements (specific income thresholds will be outlined by the Louisiana Department of Education)
