Studyville® Steps in to Help as Students Grapple with Being Behind

Baton Rouge, LA:  Today, Studyville® launches an ambitious summer program to help students who are behind after a year of a global pandemic and the toll it has taken on education.  The programming will be specifically for middle and high schools students, and will encompass everything from basic math to complex engineering to just plain fun, imaginative classes.

“We all know students are behind from the effects of COVID-19 and the havoc it wreaked on our schools, our families, and our students,” says Amanda Vincent, owner and CEO of Studyville®.  “We know they need to catch up.  But how do you coax a teenager to study during summer?  Creative programming.  We spent a lot of time researching and programming this summer to make it extra specially fun and inspiring for teens.  No one else is doing what we are doing here.”

Studyville’s wide range of summer programming includes courses in business, academics, literature, film, STEAM and fun summer camps:

  • The Inklings Club: Literature and Film with C.S. Lewis and J.R.R Tolkien
  • Break Into Business
  • Personal Finance
  • Photography/Videography
  • Math Kickstarts
  • College Week
  • Harry Potter Week

Make like C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien and join The Inklings Club, where students will take a hard look at literature and film in The Lord of the Rings and The Chronicles of Narnia.  Get ready for Computer Science with advanced coding classes, build giant engineering marvels with the Rube Goldberg class, or join college admissions counselors for College Week to visit with college recruiters from top universities around the country and kickstart those college applications that will come due all too soon.  Additionally there will be test prep, study skills, book clubs, chess club, resume classes, Harry Potter fun, and a special patriotic ‘Merica classes with reenactments and Hamilton raps . . . just you wait!

In addition to extensive programming, Studyville® will be open all summer for private tutoring, test prep, and other membership services.  Summer programming begins May 24, but families should sign up now as spaces are limited.   For more information on Summer at Studyville, visit www.studyville.com or call (225) 408-4553.
